F60 Duplex SS Hot Rolled Plate is processed under high temperatures and is drawn in the desired shape. After production, it is hard to work on a super duplex hot rolled plate. Due to the toughness and high tensile strength, Duplex F60 Shim Sheet could be used in tightening needs in steel structures. Another application is the F60 Stainless Steel Slitting Coil which is used in forming internal and external layers of larger structures. The slitting with this material provides extra strength and excellent corrosion resistance to the entire structure. F60 Super Duplex Clad Plate acts similar to the slitting but only it is flat and covers entire surfaces of metallic structures and its primary function is to act as a corrosion resistant cover. F60 Alloy Polish Plate is used in external applications of surfaces which need to remain intact in applications like liquid tankers and cargo containers. F60 UNS S32205 Polished Plate could be cold drawn to make it possible to be modified into desired shapes under room temperatures.
Features of the Duplex Stainless Steel F60 include -
- Good mechanical properties - The yield strength of the A182 Gr F60 Material is 450 Mpa, its tensile strength is 620 Mpa and the elongation of the F60 Round Bar is about 25%. The yield strength of the Duplex Stainless Steel F60 is almost twice as compared to standard austenitic grades stainless steel.
- Good fatigue strength
- Good corrosion resistance against general corrosion like chlorine stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion and pitting. Application of F60 Super Duplex is seen in sour service wells due to its resistance to hydrogen sulphide. In sour wells, when the hydrogen sulphide gas atoms get split up into sulphide and hydrogen molecules, which in turn are deposited on the walls of the pipes used in the sour well. This deposition of hydrogen is what causes the pipe to crack and is known as hydrogen sulphide stress cracking.
