Duplex Steel 1.4462 Material have excellent weldability. Any standard welding method can be used for SS 1.4462 Tube, Grade 1.4462 Pipe or 1.4462 Duplex 2205 Flange material e.g. Shielded metal arc welding, Gas tungsten arc welding, Plasma arc welding and Submerged-arc welding. But the Welding of 1.4462 is not easy compare to the austenitic grades but low thermal expansion in duplex grades reduces distortion and residual stresses after welding. 2209 is mainly used to weld duplex stainless steel such as 2205 (UNS Number S31803). Duplex Steel 1.4462 has good weldability and can be welded by most of the common welding methods You can also use Avesta Welding 2205 when you weld both cold and hot formed or something similar as filler metal. Steel Grade 1.4462 Machining shall be performed with high-speed tools.
Grade 1.4462 Heat Treatment : 1.4462 Duplex Stainless Steel can not be hardened by heat treatment. But 1.4462 Steel can be work hardened. Solution treatment or annealing for En 1.4462 are suotable by rapid cooling after heating to around 1100°C.
Although its difficult to machining 1.4462 Material Grade due to, the high 1.4462 Fatigue Strength. For example, machining of 2205 is around 20% slower compare to grade 304.
1.4462 Duplex Steel material are known for high corrosion resistant. 1.4462 Material have excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. 1.4462 Bar & 1.4462 Fasteners are suitable to use in chloride and sulphide environments, Duplex 1.4462 exhibit very high resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
